Good Design Since 2008
Made exclusively for Ideal, these vibrant and happy seat pads by Bellingham artist Dale Gottlieb are a cozy addition to most any chair. Made of 100% wool (front and back) with silk dots, they are inspired by Yayoi Kusama's work and her use of polka dots to create infinity. Hand-knotted in Nepal using the traditional Tibetan carpet technique, the pads are GoodWeave certified and child labor free. Gottlieb has worked with rugmaker Lobsang Tenzing and his family for over 30 years. When needed, please clean professionally.
Dale Gottlieb grew up going to the Brooklyn Museum of Art on Saturday mornings. Her imagery is still inspired by the African art collection, which continues to influence her exploration of Visionary and Outsider artists. Her individual sense of color and narrative approach are the connective tissue for her books, paintings, and rugs. Her work has been shown internationally and throughout the United States. She has written and/or illustrated 28 books for children and her editorial illustration has been published in various periodicals, newspapers and books including The New York Times, The Atlantic Monthly, Sports Illustrated, Esquire, Ms. and others.
