One is lovely on its own, or arrange several in a grouping. Nobuha Miya is head of an iron casting workshop founded in the 19th century. His austere works display a sense of the modern while using traditional Japanese motifs. Made in Japan.
The Iwate Prefecture in the northern part of Japan has been a center of ironware since the mid-17th century. Since this area is part of the ancient Nambu Domain, ironware made here is called "Nambu-tekki" and is traditionally known to be of the highest quality. The black color of the iron is an applied lacquer which deters rust.
