Harka Square Tray
SKU: 071774-892
$54.00

We love this tray for serving appetizers, holding pretty candles, and more.  Maija Isola’s output of more than 500 fabric prints is an inexhaustible treasure trove. The Härkä (bull) is one of her geometric designs from the 1960s in which she explores the Constructivist movement that was rising in the Finnish art scene at the time. Made in Sweden.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
