Kalendi Table Runner
SKU: 072855-823
$69.00

Spruce up your table this season with this beautiful runner featuring Sabine Finkenauer's Kalendi pattern. Named after the artist’s late cat, the simple shape brings to mind a chalice. This piece of art is a part of a series created using oil pastels on paper with a technique that involves both drawing and stamping: Sabine used an iron to transfer drawings from one paper to another. Machine wash warm, air dry. Iron on reverse side. The fabric is printed in Helsinki.

55% of the cotton used in this product is recycled.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning "Mary's dress") branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company's outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
