Good Design Since 2008
Maija Isola drew inspiration for her work from her countless trips around the world. Originally designed in 1967, the Meduusa (jellyfish) pattern was originally part of a collection entitled Aurinko ja Meri (Sun and the Sea), in which patterns were inspired by the Mediterranean island of Crete. Choose your size from the drop-down. Machine wash warm, line dry. Made in Portugal.
Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
