Mini Unikko Pouch
SKU: 18745
$40.00

In Marimekko's classic Unikko pattern, featuring an updated colorway of navy and light blue, this pouch with zippered closure is perfectly sized for cosmetics and toiletries. The exterior is made of heavyweight upholstery cotton with a stain-resistant finish, and the interior has nylon lining. Made in Estonia.

A young Maija Isola designed this abstracted pattern of poppies in 1964 after being told that Marimekko would never produce a floral print. Over four decades and countless color combinations, Unikko remains Marimekko’s most enduring pattern.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
