Sambara Blanket
SKU: 072625-153
$239.00

This generously-sized throw blanket will get you through the chilly season. Featuring Barcelona-based, German artist Sabine Finkenauer's Sambara pattern. Utilizing simple everyday subjects and shapes, Finkenauer brings an interplay of representative and abstract expression based on repetition. Her exquisite art pieces, created by hand using oil pastels, are now realized using different techniques and materials. Machine wash cold, delicate. Line dry. Made in Lithuania.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
