Musta Tamma Tote
SKU: 075356-535
$54.00

Designed in 1954, the musta tamma (black mare) pattern reflects Maija Isola’s recollections of her childhood, when she often imagined that she was running in the woods with a herd of horses.  A festive red horse celebrates 2026, the Lunar Year of the Fire Horse. Keep this tote folded in your handbag to use as an extra shopping bag. We love that they are machine-washable, in case any of your market goods should spill. Made in Estonia.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.

Please note: Image placement may differ from bag pictured, as each is cut individually from the fabric.
