A lightweight cotton bandana featuring Marimekko's classic Tasaraita pattern in two colorways: pink and orange with the Marimekko print text running along the inside edges. The iconic stripes are evenly spaced, signifying equality. Marimekko founder Annika Rimala wanted to design a collection of cotton jersey clothes to go with jeans. For all denim lovers, regardless of age, size or gender. Tie this bandana around your neck or knot on a ponytail for a dash of spring color. Made in India.
Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
