Jenni Tuominen drew inspiration for the Omppo print from the quirky apples in her cottage garden. Composed of colorful paper cutouts, the print captures the crisp charm of apples – from freshly pressed juice at late-summer parties to sweet jam on porridge in the heart of winter. “Omppo” is derived from the Finnish word for apple. The removable cover has a concealed zipper on one side for easy laundering. Made in Estonia.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
