Piccolo Silmälasikukkaro Purse
SKU: 073314-845
$30.00

This charming, multipurpose purse is great for holding sunnies, cosmetics, pens & pencils and other small items often lost in your larger bag. A metallic interior frame makes it easy to snap open and shut. The purse features Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi’s iconic striped Piccolo pattern, designed in 1953. Made in Finland.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
