Vuoren Kasvit Pillow
SKU: 074523-580
$106.00

While living in the Appalachian Mountains in North America, Maija Isola took long walks and brought back with her plants to use as subjects for both paintings and fabric patterns. The delicate, naturalistic Vuoren kasvit (mountain plants) was created in 1979. This pillow features a removable cover with a hidden zipper for easy removal and cleaning. Made in Estonia.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
